It was such an honor to capture Kanya’s Senior Photographer Hilliard Ohio session! I have had the pleasure of photographing her younger brother and sister years ago, and I was so excited to discover they had an older sister, Kanya, who is a senior this year at Hilliard Bradley High School. Homestead Park was the perfect setting for her portraits.

Spotlight: Kanya, Hilliard Bradley Senior

 

Kanya is a truly inspiring young woman.  She’s very sweet, kind, smart, and a hard worker. She is fluent in Spanish and tested out of her college Spanish requirements, earning her three college credits before even graduating! She also has a deep love for science and takes all AP science courses. Her goal is to go to college and study forensics, which is so impressive!

We chose Homestead Park since her family lives in Hilliard and is familiar with the area. It’s truly one of the best locations for senior portraits in the area, offering a beautiful mix of rustic and natural elements.

Why Homestead Park is a Senior Photography Dream Location

 

While my sessions at Scioto Audubon and Quarry Trails Park offer stunning urban and industrial vibes, Homestead Park delivers a gorgeous blend of timeless natural beauty, making it one of my favorite spots in the Columbus suburbs. You can find more information about this beautiful park on the Homestead park website.

Since Kanya’s session was taken in Mid-November, it proves that this park remains a gorgeous backdrop year-round. There are so many unique aspects to explore:

  • Rustic Charm: The beautiful path and barn-type structure provide a lovely rustic backdrop, while the covered bridge and wood plank walkways are gorgeous for close-up and full-length portraits.

  • Natural Variety: You’ll find curved walking paths, a large pond, and fields of long grass and wildflowers. Even when the wildflowers turn brown and dried up later in the season, they create a stunning, soft texture that we used for some gorgeous end-of-session portraits.

  • Unique Structures: The train station-type building and wooden deck at the back of the park offer a unique, architectural element that adds variety to the gallery. Even the rental facility in the background provides a clean, beautiful backdrop for certain shots.
