Q: How Many Weeks Pregnant Should I Be When I Take My Maternity Photos?
A: I always recommend that we shoot your session when you’re around 30-34 weeks pregnant.
Q: Do You Provide Gowns for Maternity Sessions?
A: Yes, absolutely! I have several gorgeous couture gowns that you can use for your maternity session. They are made for these sessions because they accentuate the belly and feature trains and lines that are beautiful.
Q: Do You Offer Professional Hair and Make Up Services?
A: Absolutely! Get ready to be pampered with a professional hair and makeup artist that will be at the studio. You're going to look and feel gorgeous and glammed up.
Q: How Long Is the Session?
A: Hair and Make up can take about 1 1/2 hours and the photo session can take about 1 hour if it's in studio, if you want outdoor session you'll have to allow time to travel to a local park. I would allow about 2 1/2 -3 1/2 hours in total.
Q: Where Will the Maternity Session Take Place?
A: We can either do the session indoors at my home studio located in Upper Arlington, or we can do them outdoors at a local park. I recommend doing them outdoors during spring, summer, fall and indoors in the winter.
Q: Can My Husband/Significant Other Be Included in the Maternity Photos?
A: Yes, absolutely! I encourage spouses to be at the session.

We offer a variety of maternity session packages to suit your needs and budget. All packages include professional hair and makeup artistry, access to our maternity wardrobe, and a private online gallery to download your edited images.

During the phone consultation, I will go over the entire process with you. I will answer any of your questions and go over the investment and collections that I offer.

2. PLANNING YOUR MATERNITY SESSION
After setting a date, we’ll be able to discuss all the possibilities for your portraits. Starting with location of the session, planning a time to come to the studio to try on the gowns to see which gowns you’re most comfortable with, goes well with your skin tones and we’ll make sure you look your very best!
I want to make sure you are 100% confident the day of your session so that you can focus on YOU! Don’t be afraid to ask questions and find out everything you might want to know before your session.
Your maternity session will be relaxed, calm and peaceful. I will carefully and gently guide you into flawless and stunning poses that will make you look your best.
After your session, we'll schedule a Reveal and Ordering Appointment. Once you select your collection you'd like to purchase, we will work on editing your images and creating beautiful Keepsake Albums, Heirloom Wood Prints, Canvases, and any other artwork that you’ll like to be displayed and to cherish and treasure for a lifetime!
3. DURING YOUR MATERNITY SESSION
Joanna was so great at capturing my 1 year old’s milestone session. She spent so much time customizing the session and made sure it was exactly how we imagined it. Her studio is so warm and inviting and she made my sweet, shy girl feel right at home! Everything is provided, so you just show up with your baby and she does the rest! One Year Milestone
We recently had the opportunity to work with Joanna. What a beautiful experience! Joanna was so friendly, kind, and had such a calming presence. She made us feel so comfortable and relaxed with the care and handling of our daughter, all of which was done with such ease, tenderness, and patience. Our daughter was calm and relaxed with Joanna throughout the entire session. The scenes, props, and colors for our session were displayed as we entered the studio. They were absolutely stunning! Add our baby to them, let Joanna do her thing, and it was magical! Joanna really brings each moment to life while capturing it all flawlessly! We LOVE every single photo and are OBSESSED!

I found Joanna through a referral to have photos of our newborn captured at 2 weeks old. My partner and I was very happy with our experience and would recommend to anyone needing photos. Joanna was very kind and professional leading up to our photo session. Her studio was very welcoming with all the props and colors you can choose from and had a nice relaxing vibe. Most photo studios are chaotic and I was at ease to know her studio was the opposite. Joanna and her assistant made us feel relaxed during our session which was such a relief as a new mom and we could not be happier with our photos. Just go ahead and book the session if you already read this far. 😊

We used Joanna for our newborn photos and it was an absolute pleasure to work with her! We wanted stages newborn photos and her gallery is a great example of the quality of work she can deliver. From the initial phone consult, to communication prior to my due date, and actual photo shoot day, she was kind, quick to communicate (via email, phone, and text). Our photo shoot day was as seamless as possible. She coordinated someone to come in for hair and makeup (at a cost). Her at home studio is set up for success (had TV, snacks, and toys which entertained my toddler). Safety is a priority and she had an assistant available in helping with the newborn poses. I felt my newborn was in very experienced and capable hands. And lastly, the quality of photos was superb!

Joanna was incredibly professional and easy to work with. She was more than willing to accommodate all of our requests including shooting our maternity photos at the quarry. My husband and I were thrilled with the photos - clearly a very skilled photographer! The newborn shoot was also amazing. Shooting in her basement was cozy and relaxing. Joanna is fantastic! She did my daughter’s first birthday photo shoot. As we know, little one’s have a mind of their own and sometimes don’t cooperate. Joanna was very patient and kind. She allowed my 1 year old to warm up. Her studio is very inviting and she makes it so easy. She provides the backgrounds, smash cake and outfits. We just showed up and all was taken care of. Her and her assistant are incredibly professional as well as easy to work with. Highly recommend Joanna to capture your child’s special moments!

Joanna was very organized and welcoming for our 1 year milestone photo shoot! I didn’t have to think about a cake, outfits, or set up, which took a huge amount of stress off my plate with twins! I just described my vision. She brought it to life and had the perfect set up! She captured the cutest photos, I couldn’t have asked for better results, and I would recommend her to anyone.

Joanna is a dream photographer. Our previous experience with other photographers was not great. Often time with other photographers, it was obvious the kids were uncomfortable. With Joanna, her studio is just great. It’s enclosed, quiet and warm. The area is impeccably clean. She really connects with our kids and it shows in the photos.
