As a Columbus Senior Photographer, I love photographing senior pictures at Scioto Audubon Park. This beautiful Metro Park has such a clean and natural look, which made it extra special to photograph my own senior, Luca, in one of my favorite Columbus spots. Luca is currently looking at colleges and planning the next chapter of his life, which still feels surreal. He’s working through his flight training on his path to earning his private pilot license. He has always been driven and curious, so watching him study aviation and fly solo has been one of those proud mom moments that stays with you forever.

Luca is also in his fourth year of wrestling at Upper Arlington High School. He started wrestling back in elementary school when he joined Mat Cubs, and he has stuck with it ever since. Seeing him go through the ups and downs of a sport that requires so much discipline has been a gift. Photographing his senior pictures in a place that reflects his strength and confidence felt fitting for this season of life.
So, if you are searching for senior pictures in Columbus and want a location that mixes nature with clean city lines, Scioto Audubon Park is such a great choice. It is easy to access, close to downtown, and offers a huge variety of backdrops within a short walking distance.

One of the most unique features of Scioto Audubon Park is the view of the Columbus skyline. Seniors love having the city in the background because it gives their gallery a modern touch. For Luca, the skyline felt symbolic of his next steps into adulthood and everything he is working toward.

The stone stairs at the park photograph beautifully. They add structure and texture while still feeling natural. Seniors can sit, lean, or stand on the stairs which helps create relaxed, comfortable poses.

The high grass areas give the images a warm, soft look. Therefore, they are perfect for portraits that feel calm and natural, especially during golden hour.

The ponds add depth to the gallery. Reflections photograph well, and the paths around the water give us beautiful spots with clean light.

The large steel water towers in the park are such a fun backdrop. They give senior pictures a bold, industrial edge without being overwhelming. They ended up being some of my favorite shots from Luca’s session.
We planned Luca’s session around the areas that fit him best. The skyline matched his goals and his independence. The tall grass and stone walls gave us softer, natural moments. The water towers added strength and personality. It felt like the perfect mix for a senior who has grown, matured, pushed himself in his sport, and is now learning to fly an actual plane. Photographing your own child is emotional in the best way, and this session felt like a milestone for both of us.

If you want a senior session that blends nature with the Columbus skyline, Scioto Audubon Park is a beautiful option. The variety of settings lets us create a gallery that feels personal, relaxed, and timeless.
