As I’ve been blogging most of my sessions this year for 2022; I have been putting the city that the clients are from for my sessions. It’s amazing how I get so many clients all over Columbus. Emma Jo was from Grove City Ohio, but I’ve had clients from Hilliard, Dublin, Upper Arlington, German Village, Italian Village, Clintonville, Lewis Center, Powell, New Albany, Gahanna, Bexley, Pickerington, Pataskala, so many different areas of town. It’s really neat to capture all these milestones or newborn sessions for clients all over the city!
What a gorgeous 1-year milestone session that we did for Emma Jo! She was a great baby and smiled so much and gave me so much personality, it was a lot of fun! My clients really love that I style the session for them. I provide all the outfits, the headbands, a variety of backdrops to coordinate with their outfits, props, florals, layers, lovies, you name it, I always have something to try to make these sessions beautiful and unique.
When my clients first enter my studio, I will take them to my large prop room. This is where I will show them the outfits that I have and get an idea of what colors they’d like. I will also give my input on whether the colors will match or go well with the baby’s skin tones as we don’t want an outfit to wash the baby out. Deep purples was the clients requests so I paired the outfit with a purple and white backdrop with some florals. It looked adorable! We also used a crib bed for Emma to sit on in addition to a curved bench!
The next setup was a beautiful Boho-Chic style. Emma’s Mom really liked the neutral colors so we used this gorgeous lacy outfit that also had a matching bonnet to frame her beautiful round face and make those eyes pop. And you can even see her two little teeth popping at the bottom, so cute! Loved that we paired the gorgeous backdrop with a tee-pee tent, and florals. Placing Emma in a heart-shaped bowl and added some lace layers. It all coordinated so nicely!
During their phone consultation, I asked what they were envisioning for their session. They mentioned they wanted a winter wonderland-themed cake smash in pinks and golds. I loved the idea. I had some gorgeous pink and gold Christmas trees from my Christmas decoration that I pulled out of my crawl space for the session. I just love how it turned out with the white balloon banner. We added some white and gold ornaments; the white ornaments looked like little snowballs and we added a #1 in Gold Glitter, too. Her Mom brought the beautiful Winter Wonderland Banner that they will use for her Birthday party. I thought it was a beautiful touch to add to the décor. Such a stunning session. I loved every image!
We always end the cake smash session with bathtime! What baby doesn’t like bath time!! I have this gorgeous claw tub that is fit for a one-year-old. They usually love it and it’s a great way to clean them up from the messy cake smash but continue to capture some beautiful images. I just love this floral bonnet. Thank you Julian Family for choosing me to capture such a special milestone! It’s always a pleasure working with you and your family.
