My first impression of Dublin Methodist Hospital came a year prior when my sister-in-law delivered her baby there. I was immediately struck by the inviting atmosphere. Unlike some older hospitals, Dublin Methodist didn’t feel sterile or cold. From the moment you enter, with its beautiful calming fountain, to the friendly staff who greet you and help you navigate the building, the entire experience is designed to put expecting mothers at ease.
The delivery floor at Dublin Methodist is a far cry from the traditional hospital setting. Warm colors and a lack of centralized nurses stations create a more relaxed environment. Each room feels private and spacious, with plenty of natural light and comfortable furniture for both mom and dad. My room had a large TV, a comfortable pull-out couch for my husband, and even a rocking chair for those quiet moments with my newborn. The abundance of space even allowed for guests to visit comfortably.
The staff at Dublin Methodist Hospital truly goes above and beyond to ensure a positive birthing experience. Every nurse and doctor I interacted with was friendly, attentive, and had a great bedside manner. I particularly remember the first time a nurse bathed my daughter. She was incredibly thorough and explained each step of the process, putting me at ease and making me feel confident in her care.
While my first experience at Dublin Methodist Hospital was with childbirth, it wasn’t my last. In 2019, I underwent a surgery to place a port for further treatment, followed by a lumpectomy a few months later. Dublin Methodist’s commitment to patient care continued to shine throughout these procedures.
In 2023, I returned to Dublin Methodist for a double mastectomy. This five-day stay solidified my positive impression of the hospital. However, it was Dr. Jessica Stevens, my anesthesiologist for all three procedures, who truly deserves special recognition. Dr. Stevens is an exceptional medical professional. Her friendly demeanor and clear communication style immediately instilled trust. Her intelligence and expertise were evident throughout my consultations and procedures. I cannot recommend Dr. Stevens highly enough.
Dublin Methodist offers mothers the flexibility to choose how much time they want to spend with their newborn. Babies can remain in the room with mom 24/7, or the nursery staff can take them at night to allow for some much-needed rest.
If you’re looking for a maternity hospital or a healthcare facility that prioritizes comfort, convenience, and exceptional care, then Dublin Methodist Hospital is an excellent choice. The short 15-minute drive from our home and the hospital’s convenient location right off the highway were added bonuses for us. Overall, I would highly recommend Dublin Methodist Hospital to any expecting parent or anyone seeking surgical care. They have consistently exceeded my expectations across multiple procedures.
