Maternity Photography

Congratulations! The excitement of your new arrival is likely sending you into full nesting mode. So, between decorating the nursery and stocking up on tiny clothes, it’s easy to get swept up in all the preparations. But amidst the adorable onesies and picture-perfect crib sheets, there’s one crucial task that shouldn’t be forgotten: 5 Important things to pack for the hospital bag when having a baby.

While the hospital will provide some essentials, packing your own bag ensures you have the comforts and items you need for a smooth and comfortable delivery experience.

Here are the top 5 things you should pack to make your hospital stay as relaxing and focused on bonding with your little one as possible:

#1 Comfortable Clothing

Pack comfortable clothes that are easy to wear and allow for easy access when breastfeeding or undergoing medical examinations. Loose-Fitting clothing like pajamas, nursing nightgowns, and robes would be perfect.

#2

Toiletries

Pack your toiletries including toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion.  You may also want to bring a hairbrush, deodorant, and lip balm.

#3

Nursing Essentials

If you plan on breastfeeding, pack nursing pads, a nursing pillow, and a breast pump.  It is also essential to bring nipple cream and a comfortable nursing bra.

#4

Baby Clothes and Blankets

Pack enough baby clothes and swaddles for your stay in the hospital.  You will need a few onesies, socks, a hat and a receiving blanket.  It’s alwasy better to pack extra clothes in case of unexpected accidents.

#5

Entertainment

You many need some entertainment during your stay in the hospital.  Bring a book or magazine to read, a tablet or laptop to watch movies or TV shows, or a baord game to play with your partner or visitors.  Extra chargers for your phones, iPad are a good idea to bring, too!

Packing these essentials will not only ensure your comfort during your hospital stay, but also give you peace of mind knowing you’re prepared for anything. Remember, this is a time to focus on welcoming your little miracle and creating those precious first memories. With your essentials packed and ready to go, you can simply relax and enjoy the wonder of parenthood!
