My wonderful housekeeper, Telma, has been cleaning my house for the past two years. She and her son always do such a great job. I had no idea she was pregnant until she told me a few weeks ago that she was having a baby boy. Please help me welcome her baby, Damian!
I knew I wanted to gift her a newborn session as she has always worked so hard for me and always does a wonderful job. I have been contemplating offering “Mini Newborn Sessions” to clients. This is where I can provide a quick one hour session that is a little more budget friendly. I knew I could test this on Telma’s baby, Damian, to see how this would work. What I will do is do all wrapped shots and prop shots just like his session here. No posing, no outfit changes, no blanket changes. Typically when I wrap the babies they tend to fall asleep and I can definitely get a good solid 10 images in less than an hour for those clients that just want a handful of images and a smaller budget to work with.
Clients will still have the opportunity to do my typical full newborn sessions where I will do family shots, sibling shots, posed shots with outfits, naked shots, etc. These sessions can take 2-3 hours and are a larger investment for me as the outfits are a little more expensive, we have to do a load of laundry as I do not use diapers for these sessions so I launder every single session and we wash all the outfits, too.
I think by offering two type of sessions in different price points this will open this up to more clients that might not want to spend $800-$1500 on a session which is my average price point for a full session. Let me know your thoughts. I’m still trying to decide what the price point will be, but I still need to be sustainable in order to offer these to clients. Interested in booking your newborns session?
